This #throwback is a shout out to all my fellow #sicklecell warriors out there. It’s also a heartfelt #thankyou to all our families, support system and everyone who spreads cheer and love (it really helps). Sickle cell anemia is a genetic blood disorder that affects heamoglobin and the ability of red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout the body.
This means the red blood cells lose the healthy round shape like the ones behind me in this picture and become a crescent causing extreme pain as they travel through the blood vessels.

I know the #crispr technology scared a lot of people with the idea of hyper intelligent super Chinese babies, but I want us all to think of the lives that responsibly applying it could change.
